To all lumberjacks, mountain men and women, and visitors of all ages…….
Tuolumne Pete (kin to Paul Bunyan), invites you to four glorious days of merriment and lumber education. Eat, drink, dance and be merry to your heart’s content. Relax in the balmy atmosphere of Pine, Fir and Cedar. You won’t be disappointed. Don’t miss the Tug-of-War! By the way, Tuolumne is pronounced “Too-all-ah-me”.
Less than a century ago, the Tug of War was an Olympic event. It still survives at the Tuolumne Lumber Jubilee….one of the only two tug of wars regularly held in the good old USA! These guys take it seriously, too. This event has to be seen to be believed! Don’t forget the Arm wrestling Event…women, children and men of all ages try to pin their opponent for top awards.
Another rarely witnessed athletic event these days is the Bull of the Woods. This event puts pure brawn between two contestants struggling to stay on the log while doing a bit of boxing. This is another long relished Tuolumne Lumber Jubilee tradition and we doubt you’ll ever see this event anywhere else. Participants are very serious about winning this event!
What’s a Jubilee or any family event without a carnival – especially an old fashioned one? Win a teddy bear, a goldfish, ride the Ferris wheel, eat a corn dog, and feast on cotton candy. This is American at its absolute best. Rest assured that the city of Tuolumne’s small town atmosphere is perfect for the entire family.
A grand parade, queen competition, carnival, homegrown music, great food, unique gifts and a day-by-day detailed schedule of Jubilee events…all reasons why we urge you to follow this link above and discover more about the 61st Annual Tuolumne Lumber Jubilee
