Tuolumne is easily accessible from San Francisco, San Jose, Sacramento, Stockton, Lodi, Modesto or anywhere in California’s Great Valley.
From anywhere in California, head for Highway 99 and exit to highway 120 in Manteca (just north of Modesto). Follow Highway 120 to Oakdale. In the center of town at the stoplight, you will turn left onto Highway 120/108 heading east into the Sierra Nevada. From this point it is 42 miles to Tuolumne. Just follow the highway passing Yosemite Junction, staying on Highway 108 toward Jamestown and Sonora. Take the Mono Way exit off Highway 108 and turn right. Then you will turn right at Tuolumne Road. Follow this road past the high school and the old west Side Lumber site. You will see the Tuolumne shopping plaza on your left. Take the first right past the center. You may now refer to the map below to find your way around town.
If you happen to be coming from the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada (US-395), you can come over Sonora Pass (Highway 108) and follow it to make a left turn on Tuolumne Road. From Yosemite, following Highway 120 through Groveland and turn east onto Highway 108 at Yosemite Junction and follow the above directions.
